Why people buy from the person, not the business
Walk down any high street and most of the businesses are faceless — a sign, a till, a menu. The owner might be brilliant at what they do, and nobody outside the regulars has any idea.
Meanwhile a following builds around the person, not the premises. Someone who posts the work, the mistakes, the good days, becomes familiar before a stranger ever walks through the door. Familiarity is most of what trust is made of.
This isn't about becoming an influencer. It's about putting a real face and a real voice behind the business so a passing customer feels like they've already met you — because, in a sense, they have.
The businesses that get this right don't necessarily do better work. They just let people see it.
